Spinal instrumentation utilizes surgical procedures to implant titanium, titanium-alloy, stainless steel or non-metallic devices into the spine. Instrumentation provides a permanent solution to spinal instability. Medical implants are specially designed and come in many shapes and sizes. Typically these include rods, hooks, braided cable, plates, screws, and interbody cages. This module shall incorporate the following:
Cervical Spine
- Anterior cervical plate fixation
- Odontoid screw fixation
- Occipito cervical fixation and C1-C2 transarticular screw fixation
Dorsal and Lumber Spine
- Dorsal and Lumbar pedicles: Surgical Anatomy
- Dorsal and lumbar pedicle screw fixation
- Anterior thoracolumbar fixation
